A Longwood Gardens Christmas and Lunch at the Kennett Square Inn
Thursday, December 7, 2017
One of the most beautiful holiday displays in the area takes place at the Annual Longwood Gardens Christmas, which hosts some of the most festive displays and exhibits.
Our docent will enlighten us on the Longwood story that is one of legacy, innovation and stewardship. The Gardens are a living expression of all that Pierre du Pont found inspiring, meaningful, and beautiful. From the intricate fountain systems to the meticulous gardens to the architectural grandeur and awe-inspiring discoveries around every corner. The traditions and elegance of the gardens have evolved over the decades to create the magnificence we have today.
After the docent tour, we will have time to explore, on our own, the 41⁄2 acres of the heated indoor conservatory with its twenty “rooms” featuring garlands, sparkling trees, 500,000 twinkling lights, holiday music, seasonal plants and much more.
When we leave Longwood Gardens we will have a fabulous 3 course lunch in the heart of Kennett Square at the historic Kennett Square Inn, circa 1832.
Price: $105 per person (lunch included)
Time: 7:30 a.m. until approximately 4:30 p.m.
